The flaws of the English version of Sword Art Online, Volume 1: Aincrad
This post is incomplete and meant for people who've read this book.
Spoilers for this book and SAO Progressive volume 5.
This post's style is somewhat based off of CinemaSins. Unlike their work and some people who pastiche their work's style, this is all serious critique, even if some critiques are nitpicks. Or maybe a lot. I'm not sure about that yet.
Flaw 1: Kirito holding two swords on the cover is a spoiler.
Flaw 2: Kirito's eyes are black despite that this series should be grounded with the exception of its tech.
Flaw 3: The Dark Repulser is aquamarine for the cover, but when the sword is first given a description in the novels, it's said to have a white blade and bluish silver hilt. The first time it's described in the novels is in volume 2, but that description originally came from the web novel, which was finished by the time volume 1 was being made.
Flaw 4: Asuna's body is skinny in an unnatural way that I don't like and looks off to me.
Flaw 5: Asuna's hair color in illustrations is not chestnut like it's stated to be in the book.

Flaw 6: There's a needless extra SAO logo for the English version. Due to this, Progressive volume 5 had to position the main one in a spot that obscured the spines of Shmargor in the background. The sin here is not for the problem in P5, but this volume introducing something that has the potential to be a problem.
